ROCK AXSON (2022): Hunger Fight Benefit Concert
JACKSONVILLE, FL -
Saying that J. Allen Axson Montessori School knows how to rock is an understatement. This fundraising concert was not only a lot of fun but also a huge success with an incredible turnout and the amazing support from the school and the community. The concert featured a range of talented musicians and performers that captivated the crowd by their love for music, and certainly the raw energy of Mr. T and the A-Team Band!
It all started in 2019 with Mr. T's creative, unique idea for an air guitar-infused rock concert, "A Day in the Life of a Student Through Classic Rock Songs," but the pandemic paused the action. Finally by the Fall of 2022, ROCK AXSON had a green light and cranked at full speed - taking nearly 2 months of weekly rehearsals with Mr. T's past and current students along with their families...the A-Team erupted with enthusiasm!!

“There’s going to be a purpose behind it. And the purpose was to raise money. So, we reached out to different nonprofits in Jacksonville.” - Mr. T
As true ROCKstars, the A-Team pulled off an epic concert exceeding the anticipated goals in monetary donations and the number of packed meals - all for HUNGER FIGHT, in the cafeteria of J. Allen Axson Montessori. By the end of the night it was also a memorable success for his students, as Mr. T delivered an incredible lesson that could have never been taught in a classroom alone.

WE RAISED OVER 30,000 MEALS!
We landed on helping a local nonprofit, Hunger Fight (hungerfight.org) an organization that packs and distributes food through its Feed the Backpacks program. Feed the Backpacks sends elementary-aged children on the federal free and reduced meal plan home with food for their entire family for the weekend.

Mr. T's A-Team benefit concert raised over 30,000 MEALS for food insecure families.

“Just knowing the food and meals are going out to kids and families in Jacksonville – there’s a certain level of satisfaction that I never could have imagined. And, I think these kids understand that as well.” - Mr. T
